Dr. Black at the Barcelona Science Festival 2018

Dr. Ashley P. Black, postdoctoral fellow at the ICMAB and part of the CARBAT project, participated in the 12 edition of the Barcelona Science Festival held in the Ciutadella Park in Barcelona (Spain) on June 9-10, 2018.

The festival, organized byBCNCiència (Institut de Cultura de l'Ajuntament de Barcelona), counted more than 230 activities in 33 different spaces, distributed along the city’s Ciutadella Park and prepared with the cooperation of 160 institutions (research centres, associations, universities, individuals). More than 20,000 attendees joined the festival during the weekend. The ICMAB’s team contributed with micro-talks by Prof. Jordi Rius and Dr. Ashley P. Black, followed by popular participatory activities like a nanotechnology debate, a photonics contest, etc.

Dr. Black offered a popular science talk on “Beyond Li-ion batteries”, explaining to the audience how do batteries work and giving an overview of his research activities within the CARBAT project.
