CARBAT Summer School on Multivalent Batteries 2019
Chalmers University of Technology, one of CARBAT project partners, organized an open Summer School on “Multivalent Batteries: Fundamentals & Applications”, held at Sjösportgården, Smögen (Sweden) on June 10-14, 2019.
The Summer School was intended for PhD students and postdocs with background in electrochemical energy storage and interested in the development of electrode and electrolyte materials for multivalent rechargeable batteries. Engineers at relevant companies were also encouraged to take part in this event.
The purpose of the summer school was to train the next generation multivalent battery researchers, to create a network between all participants and to display the activities of CARBAT. The Summer school was co-sponsored by Chalmers to further reduce the barrier for students attending and ensure a better visibility of the CARBAT project aims and targets.
The school program included lectures and exercise sessions on both modelling and experimental aspects of the battery research; also working/networking slots were planned. The invited teachers were selected experts according to the school’s scope, from CARBAT consortium and externally. 22 participants attended the event, mainly coming from European research institutions, with 41% female participation.
