1st CARBAT project meeting at ICMAB-CSIC (Barcelona)
On April 5th 2018, The first CARBAT project meeting was celebrated at the CARBAT coordinator's research institute, Institut de Ciència de Materials de Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC) in Bellaterra. All the involved partners, from the 4 institutions working in the project went to the meeting, in where the first six months of work were discussed.

Laura Cabana, Project Manager of CARBAT, presented the deliverables related to the Work Package of Management, IPR and Communication that have been already delivered to the European Commission. Those are the Project collaborative platform, the Project Quality Plan, the Data Management Plan, the Communication and dissemination Plan and the project website.
Elena Arroyo, from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, presented the work conducted related to Cathode development (Work Package 2). She showed the cathode material screening done with computational methods, which will allow CSIC start their experimental synthesis of the optimal cathode materials for testing.
Patrik Johansson, from Chalmers, presented the results on Electrolyte Development (Work Package 3) and Rafael Barros presented the first deliverable of this WP, a Literature review of Ca conducting electrolytes.
After a global discussion and arranging all the tasks and steps of the project before the next meeting, the members had a finger lunch at ICMAB's hall, which was also a good oportunity for networking between the project fellows.
The meeting was concluded with a tour at the ICMAB-CSIC building. The visitors had the oportunity to see the laboratories where CARBAT research is done. They could also see the different equipment and services that ICMAB-CSIC has.
