Prof. Arroyo visiting IAM-WK at KIT in Germany

One of the WP leaders in the CARBAT project, Prof. M. Elena Arroyo from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, was invited visitor at the Institute of Applied Materials at KIT in Germany on June 6-8, 2018.

The Institute for Applied Materials (IAM-WK) focuses on research, teaching and innovation in the field of materials structure. Numerous methods are being developed (including structural and microstructural characterization, stress state and near surface conditions of various material types) aiming at the mechanism-oriented assessment of the deformation and failure behaviour of materials.

Prof. Arroyo gave a talk on "A combined computational-experimental approach to investigate electrode materials for Li, Na, Mg and Ca batteries". A large part of the discussion following her presentation was devoted to multivalent batteries.
