Prof. Johansson at the ISE annual meeting 2019 in Durban
CARBAT WP leader, Prof. Patrik Johansson from Chalmers University, was invited speaker at the 70th Annual Meeting of the International Society of Electrochemistry, held at the International Convention Centre in Durban (South Africa) on August 4-9, 2019.
The scientific theme of the 70th Annual Meeting of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE), “Electrochemistry: Linking Resources to Sustainable Development”, reflected the increasing importance of electrochemistry in promoting human development (through science, engineering, technology and innovation). Its program comprised symposia sponsored by all ISE Divisions, covering all the scientific interests of the ISE membership and of the electrochemical community at large. Symposium 7 (“Energy Storage Materials and Devices: Batteries for Powering Tomorrow’s World”) was dedicated to advances in rechargeable batteries, including post Li-ion systems - such as Li-S, Li-NCM, Na-ion, multivalent, etc. Special focus was put on recent progress in the fundamental science related to batteries, yet studies related to all other (applied) aspects of batteries, including solid-state electrolytes, were also presented.
Prof. Johansson discussed research on “Promises, Problems and Proof-of-Concept for Calcium and Aluminium Batteries” in symposium 7.
